Apple reaches 15 Billion App downloads; 1 Billion of those downloaded within the last month*. As a reminder, it’s taken almost ten years for Apple to shift 15 Billion songs, but less than three to hit the same number of apps.

Amazon App Store Not So Great?
Apple and Amazon are in court about whether Apple should have exclusive rights to the phrase ‘App Store’. From the Bloomberg article:
Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet told Bloomberg that Apple’s fear is that by using the “App Store” name, Amazon’s offering will “confuse and mislead customers.”
This new Gigaom article suggests that Amazon’s App Store is not a good user experience. Perhaps Apple have ground to stand on.

Motion 5, Apple’s motion graphics design tool, is available now in the App Store for an almost impossible to believe $49.99*
*Adobe are going to be unhappy (After Effects goes for $999).
Note: As a long time AE user (Version 1) I’ll be interested to see how the feature set compares for the price gap.
