So Apple is a hardware company, eh?
So why the hold up on the Hulu app? If Apple add it they’ll ship more hardware; Hulu is a well-known brand and people buy Rokus because of it. Slap that sticker on the side of the box and ship some more of those puppies.

Piracy of Fox content more than doubles due to Hulu airing delay decision
Surprise!*
*to no one.
Apple are in talks to buy Hulu.
Everyone seems to be asking why. I’m guessing the five years of streaming licenses for a much wider range of content than they currently have for Apple TV might have something to do with it. Want to rent House on Apple TV? You can’t. Not without purchasing it on a computer and streaming it to the device.
Add Hulu’s library to the Apple TV (and locked to Safari on the web) and it becomes a serious contender. $2 Billion? Apple have that to spare in cash EVERY MONTH.
If they don’t buy them, it’s because the license doesn’t allow them to strip out the ads.
Disappointed that Netflix bowed out the Hulu purchase game.
Combining a great archive (Netflix) with next day TV replay (Hulu) through one service would have made all this a lot more simple.
Hulu plans to ask for cable-subscription authentication before allowing next-day show viewing?
Without authentication, you’ll still be able to watch shows 8 days later, but this, in addition to increasing the amount of ad units, is probably going to encourage their current users to go back to pirating.
Good luck with that sale, Hulu!
