Netflix +50pts. Awesomeness achievement unlocked.
Reed Hastings: “So how can we get people to forget about all that two-company-name-changing bullshit?”
Netflix Minion: “Well, oh great bearded one, we could help bring Arrested Development back to TV?”

Netflix updates for the iPad, Fire and Nook.
Netflix becoming Qwixster.
A good Reed (Hastings).
The two new company names should be: Qwikflix (Streamed) and Mailflix (by Mail).
Apple has deals in place for Netflix-like streaming service??
Jay Yarow at Business Insider covers a report by Peter Misek at Jefferies:
Specifically, he says, “As part of Apple’s roll-out of cloud video services (and eventually an iTV), we believe Apple has unannounced deals with all/most of the studios/TV networks that are similar to the subscription streaming deal between Amazon and CBS.”
Depending on price and which content owners have signed up, this could be a game-changing move:
- iOS device penetration
- A dedicated device (Apple TV)
- A library of both latest and archive content (Netflix’s watch instantly library can be a little lackluster)
- Spotify for video. A mix of the movies you own, always available through iTunes Replay, plus anything available for instant streaming from their library.
Bow-chicka-wow-wow.

Blimey, People.
Netflix - $16.99 for as many movies as you can eat. ($7.99 if you choose just streaming which is $1 less than you were paying before for the same service)
Everyone else - $3-4.99 per movie.
If everything were free, you would be too (i.e. unemployed)
What the US is watching on Netflix.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, several states are watching movies set in their own locale.
Disappointed that Netflix bowed out the Hulu purchase game.
Combining a great archive (Netflix) with next day TV replay (Hulu) through one service would have made all this a lot more simple.
